Welcome to my website! I am currently an Assistant Professor (Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter) at Heidelberg University. I have recently completed my DPhil in Philosophy at Balliol College, University of Oxford. If you are interested in my work, here is my recent article 'Oikeion, Agathon, and Archaia Phusis in Plato's Symposium', published in Apeiron. 

My area of specialization is Ancient Greek and Latin Philosophy, with a focus on Plato and Aristotle. My systematic interests include ethics, theory of action, and theory of argumentation.

In my Oxford DPhil project, I explored Plato’s philosophical use of the concept of an original nature (archaia phusis) of the soul in his middle dialogues. From April 2026, I will be a Walter Benjamin Research Fellow at the University of Heidelberg. In my DFG-funded two-year research project 'Oikeion Agathon. Plato's Theory of Belonging', I will conduct a systematic investigation of the philosophical role of the concept of the oikeion (what 'belongs to us') in Plato's ethical thought. 

I love teachig timeless classics such as Plato's Republic, Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics, or Cicero's De Finibus. At the same time, I enjoy exploring single topics both historically and systematically, as in my current seminar series on ancient and contemporary perspectives on weakness of will (akrasia).
